In 2017, LANCO released their debut album Hallelujah Nights, which debuted at the top of the charts as did its first single, “Greatest Love Story.” A throwback to the storyteller era of country music, “Greatest Love Story” painted a traditional picture of young love and the roller coaster ride it often takes. The second single, “Born To Love You,” picks up where it left off.
Written by Ashley Glenn Gorley, Brandon Lancaster, Josh Osborne and Ross Copperman, “Born to Love You” is lyrically catchy with its “Wherever I go and whatever I do I was born to love you, I was born to love you” chorus. The melody is simple yet irresistible. People can relate through their own experiences with love.
“Looking in your eyes, yeah it’s all so clear
Every time you smile, I know why I’m here
Wherever I go and whatever I do
I was born to love you, I was born to love you
‘Cause I could search the world from south to north
But I’ve already found what I’m looking for”
Lead singer Brandon Lancaster states that the lyrics are about the members of the band. They are all from small towns around the Southeast and though each town is different, they are the same. It’s who we are and where we are from. It shows how no matter the path life has for you, it means more when you have someone to love to do it with, and for. You were born to love them.
