Upcoming country pop singer-songwriter Mattie Taylor is back with “Love Is True” – her second single of 2025. This upbeat tune relates to that moment when you just know that what you are feeling towards that special someone is more than just a crush, and today Taylor is delivering the song’s music video, exclusively premiering with The Country Note.
“‘Love Is True’ is that perfect summer anthem—the kind you blast on a boat with friends or while cruising down a backroad with the windows down,” says Taylor. “I wrote it about the moment you realize that love isn’t just a feeling—it’s real.”
The video is beautifully filmed during a bright sunny day, with Taylor sitting on the dock at Old Hickory Lake, kayaking and walking through the woods with the sun breaking through the leaves. The images bring one back to a summer spent with that someone, a young love that you would fall asleep at night dreaming about, because you knew knew deep down was more than just a fling or a crush.
You came out of nowhere
Right after I said I don’t care
To find the right guy
This kind of love is pretty rare
This could be an answered prayer
It’s right and I find myself
Pinning your number at the top of my list
And saving your seats
I know we’re in a high since that first night
I thought maybe this could be
The fire that keeps on burning
And all that you keep on turning
If we’re just a summer flame
I’ll forever be amazed
By your song that I keep on singing
The words from my lips I mean it
Nobody’s ever made people like you
Made me believe Love is true
“The ‘Love Is True’ video was filmed on Old Hickory Lake using Get Up and Go clear kayaks,” explains Taylor. “The owners, Daniel and Carina, reached out to me with the idea of featuring their kayaks in a video, and I was instantly inspired. I wrote ‘Love Is True’ on the spot and couldn’t wait to bring it to life with them.”
