NASHVILLE, TN — Today, Nashville based pop-country firecracker Jess Antonette kicks down the door with her brand new single, “Much Too Much,” a cheeky blend of western pop-country instrumentation with her unapologetic loud and proud Northeast, take-no-BS attitude.
Written by Jess alongside close friend and fellow singer-songwriter Chelsey Stallings, and produced, mixed, and mastered by Dan Synn, co-produced by Nicholas William, with additional instrumentation from Andy Ellison, this song is an anthem for any woman who’s ever been told she’s “too loud,” “too wild,” or simply “too much.”
With banjos, western textured elements, a driving train beat, and Jess’s signature raw vocals, “Much Too Much” is a defiant rejection of the idea that women need to tone themselves down for anyone’s comfort. It’s an unapologetic celebration of self-expression, confidence, and freedom.
“Gosh, it’s exhausting always being expected to shrink just to make other people comfortable. I’m not doing it. I don’t believe anyone is too much — maybe we’re just too much for the wrong people; you just need to find your people. The truth is, I’m not intimidating — they’re simply intimidated. Women shouldn’t feel like there’s something wrong with them for feeling deeply, dreaming big, speaking boldly, or being loud and opinionated. You’re not a b*tch if you’re direct. Some of us weren’t made to blend in. Be too much. Take up space. Make them uncomfortable. And above all — never apologize for who you are if your heart is in the right place.”
