Nashville-based boutique hotel and beloved vintage guitar shop partner
to launch “Songs from the Countrypolitan”
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Countrypolitan Hotel and Carter Vintage Guitars have partnered to launch “Songs from the Countrypolitan,” a songwriting competition for aspiring artists. The call to action is to tell a story inspired by the unique history of the building that houses the Countrypolitan. Submissions are now open, and artists have until August 26, 2025, to submit their song.
The competition will be judged by musicians and friends of the Countrypolitan, Nikki Lane and Jonathan Terrell. The winner will be announced on August 30, 2025, and they will have the opportunity to professionally record their song in a demo session at Carter Vintage Guitars. The winner will also be invited to perform their song live at the Countrypolitan’s Armadillo Wednesdays Showcase during AMERICANAFEST, and they will receive 250,000 IHG One Rewards points in addition to a complimentary night’s stay at The Countrypolitan Hotel in downtown Nashville.
“Our building is rooted in the Nashville spirit, full of history and stories,” said Bill Bacelieri, general manager of The Countrypolitan. “The energy that defines the Countrypolitan has inspired artists and travelers alike, and we can’t wait to see who it inspires next through this contest. The Countrypolitan isn’t just a hotel–it creates a connection to a place that represents the unconventional spirit of Nashville, a city built on stories, songs and a little bit of outlaw charm.”
The recently renovated hotel takes design inspiration from the “Nashville Sound” and “Countrypolitan” eras of the 1960s and 70s in country music. Rooted in Nashville’s deep history of music, the building has stories in its walls. Applicants are asked to take inspiration from the history and spirit of the hotel while penning their songs, and the connection to the theme will be considered in the judging round.
“At Carter Vintage Guitars, we’re passionate about supporting the next generation of musicians. Partnering with The Countrypolitan gives us a powerful opportunity to help emerging artists record and share their music,” said Ben Montague, Founder and CEO of TNAG Global, which acquired Carter Vintage Guitars in 2022. “All of our iconic demos and artist sessions are filmed and recorded in our High-End Acoustic Room—home to some of the rarest and most historic instruments in the world. The winner will have the chance to perform in the very same space where some of the most prolific players on the planet have played. With its striking, recognizable backdrop and unparalleled vibe, it’s a truly inspiring environment where artists can bring their vision to life.”
Last spring, Carter Vintage Guitars announced a new showroom, boasting significantly more space and recording capabilities. Through the collaboration for “Songs from the Countrypolitan,” Carter Vintage Guitars will offer a full demo recording session filmed in their high-end demo room and songwriting essentials for the top three submissions.
“Songs from the Countrypolitan” is open to all songwriters aged 18 and older from any location. Submissions must be entirely original compositions, with all artists credited, and are currently being accepted online.
